AHSTimes Exclusive Interview with Albert Einstein (8:04 PM)
Today,we are honored to invite Mr Albert Einstein for a interview....
AHSTimes:*shake hands*Thank you for coming to the interview.Nice to meet you.i'm li ling.
Albert: Nice to meet you too.I'm Albert.
AHSTimes:As we all know, the invention of the atomic bomb was a great creation.Would you like to tell us more about yourself? Were you talented since young?
Albert: I have no particular talent. I am merely inquisitive. When i was young, although i had early speech difficulties, i was a top student in elementary school.i remember when i was five, my father showed me a pocket compass.i realized that something in empty space was moving the needle. This experience made a deep and lasting impression on me.
AHSTimes: Well, besides going to school, did you take up any extra lessons or subjects?
Albert:.Yes.At my mother's insistence, i took up violin lessons.Although i disliked them and eventually quit, i later took great pleasure in Mozart's violin sonatas. If I were not a physicist, I would probably be a musician. I often think in music.I live my daydreams in music. I see my life in terms of music...i was exposed to key science, mathematics, and philosophy texts when i was 10.
AHSTimes:Thats pretty early.Did you understand the contents?
Albert:Yes and i was quite good at them. When i was fifteen,my father's business failed and my family moved.I was left behind to finish my studies. During this time, i wrote my first scientific work. But,not long after, i quited school to join my family .
AHSTimes: Did you continue schooling thereafter?
Albert:I attempted to skip high school by taking an entrance exam to the Swiss Polytechnic, but i failed the arts portion. i was sent back to finish high school and i graduated from poly in 1900.
AHSTimes: What did you plan to do?
Albert:I wanted to get a job but could not find a teaching post. After almost two years of searching i got one as an assistant examiner.i wasn't giving up on academia all these while. After i was promoted Examiner Second Class,My works were recognized.I then became an associate professor then a full professorship at Universities. My job offers were getting better and better. Some of my works actually reached the UK and US.My theories were proven right and the next thing i knew i became world famous.*laughs*
AHSTimes: Was this how you were pulled into the participation of the invention of the atomic bomb?
Albert:Well, you could say so.But i did not directly participate.I was only instrumental in facilitating its development as my equation clearly illustrated the atomic bomb.Bombs were not what i had in mind.
AHSTimes:But didn't you urged for the bomb to be built?
Albert:The bomb would have been invented without my letters but without them the bombs might not have been ready in time to use during the war.i was just their theoretical adviser.I completed my part in two days and was excluded from other bomb related work. The government didn't trust me to keep the project a secret.
AHSTimes:So,what are your views of the invention of the atomic bomb?
Albert:As the realization of nuclear weapons grew near,i looked beyond the current war to future problems that such weapons could bring.i knew that when the war is over, there will be a pursuit of secret war preparations with technological means. This will lead inevitably to preventative wars and to destruction even more terrible than the present destruction of life. After the surrender,i was pushed to the development of the bomb.I have always condemned the use of the atomic bomb against Japan.I was sure that the President would have forbidden the atomic bombing of Hiroshima had he been alive. It was probably carried out to end the Pacific war before Russia could participate.
AHSTimes:Did you regretted?
Albert:I made one great mistake in my life... when I signed the letter to the President recommending that atomic bombs be made; but there was some justification - the danger that the Germans would make them.*sighs*
AHSTimes:Don't blame yourself too much.It was a great invention. That's all for this interview. We thank you for spending time with us.Have a nice day.
